Spoilers for Stranger Things season 2 episode 7.
Eleven follows the girl from Terry's memories to Chicago and finds Kali living with a group of outcasts. Kali bears the number 008 and can make people see things that are not there. They recognise each other from Hawkins Lab and embrace as sisters. Kali welcomes Eleven into the group, but their home is built around hunting the people who hurt them. She encourages Eleven to draw on her anger and practise moving a railway carriage. Eleven succeeds, then agrees to help locate Ray Carroll, a man she recognises from the memories of what was done to her mother.
The group changes Eleven's appearance and takes her on a raid at Ray's apartment. Confronted by the girls, Ray claims that Brenner is alive and offers to help find him. Eleven nearly kills Ray but stops after seeing that he has children. When Kali raises a gun, Eleven throws it away with her powers, preventing the killing. Back at the hideout, Kali uses an illusion of Brenner to push Eleven towards revenge, but Eleven thinks about the people she left in Hawkins. Through the void, she sees Hopper and Mike in danger at the laboratory. Police surround the building, and Kali conceals the group long enough to escape. Eleven refuses to leave with them. She boards a bus for Hawkins, telling a fellow passenger that she is going home.
