Elevator Speech

Contains spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

Ji-pyeong stops Do-san from seeing Dal-mi while she is upset after the ransomware attack, letting him believe they are a couple. He immediately regrets the implication and tells her what happened, but Dal-mi declines to clarify their relationship. Do-san assumes his chance has passed and joins his friends in preparing a new Korean company. Their success attracts attention and would-be investors, although they have not settled what business they want to run.

Cheongmyeong loses its twin developers to Morning Group just before an important self-driving test. In-jae asks Dal-mi to recruit the returning programmers, forcing her to approach Do-san professionally despite their breakup. He initially rejects her proposal, and she later follows him to a secluded cabin to try again. Their conversation returns to the name Tarzan, drawn from the explanation of machine learning that once brought them closer. Do-san reads the proposal while she rests.

Yong-san seeks advice from Seon-hak and then apologizes to Ji-pyeong for blaming him for his brother's death. Ji-pyeong acknowledges the harshness of his own words and helps distinguish running a business from doing the coding they enjoy. He supports joining Cheongmyeong as an investor's judgment, despite his personal reluctance. Chul-san recruits Sa-ha, and the old team reunites for the car test. In-jae also learns how badly Won-deok's sight has deteriorated and moves to dissolve her adoption by Chairman Won.
