The 2STO acquisition separates the people who expected to move forward together. Alex retains Do-san, Chul-san and Yong-san but dismisses Dal-mi and Sa-ha, while Noongil's future is threatened. Cancelling the deal would require an enormous payment. Ji-pyeong arrives too late to stop the signatures and tells the team that the agreement is binding. Do-san lashes out at him, and their argument becomes a physical fight before he finally asks for help.
Explaining why Noongil matters, Do-san reveals that Won-deok is losing her sight. Ji-pyeong visits her and breaks down over how little he knew about her difficulties. Dal-mi has been planning ways to help her grandmother while living abroad, including an extension that could identify medicines. The dismissal now leaves her outside both the company and the future she imagined with Do-san. Ji-pyeong advises accepting the deal and finding a way to protect the app from within.
Dal-mi urges Do-san to go to Silicon Valley and ends their relationship when he refuses to leave her behind. Samsan Tech packs up its Sandbox office, and the programmers prepare for America. Do-san and Ji-pyeong both approach Alex about continuing Noongil. In-jae admits that Dal-mi was the girl behind the Sandbox story, and Seon-hak explains her connection to their father. Seeking a new direction after the breakup and dismissal, Dal-mi applies for a job at her sister's company.
