Myung-gi demands that Gi-hun hand over the baby and remain on the second tower. Gi-hun crosses before the bridge retracts, and their struggle ends with Myung-gi falling. The final round has not started, so his death does not satisfy its rules. Gi-hun presses the button himself, sets the baby safely down and jumps to his death. Jun-hee's daughter, now Player 222, becomes the sole winner of the contest.
Gyeong-seok points Jun-ho toward the island, but the police response arrives too late to stop the game. No-eul burns the player records and escapes with the staff rather than killing herself. The Front Man orders an evacuation and the destruction of the facility, then retrieves the baby from the final tower. Jun-ho confronts his brother from the viewing room, but In-ho leaves without explaining himself. Jun-ho escapes before the island explodes, carrying away no reunion with the brother he sought.
Six months later, Gyeong-seok is reunited with his recovering daughter, and No-eul follows an unconfirmed lead that her own child may be in China. In-ho leaves the baby and her winnings with Jun-ho. He delivers Gi-hun's tracksuit and remaining money to Ga-yeong in Los Angeles, telling her that her father has died. On the drive away, he sees a woman recruiting a man through ddakji in an alley. Their exchanged glance places the same recruitment beyond Korea, while Gi-hun's final act has saved the child entrusted to him.
