Gi-hun refuses Player 096's proposal to kill the other contestants as they finish Jump Rope. He forces the man aside, then defeats him when he attacks. Jun-hee cannot cross on her injured ankle and rejects Myung-gi's offer after confronting him about Hyun-ju. As Gi-hun prepares to return for her, Jun-hee steps off the platform so that he will remain alive to protect her daughter. The organizers assign the child her mother's number, 222.
The surviving men resent the baby's share of the prize, but the guards now forbid attacks between rounds. A promise that the finalists can choose at least three people to eliminate persuades most of them to continue. Several agree to target Gi-hun, the baby and Min-su. Elsewhere, Woo-seok warns Jun-ho about Captain Park. The captain kills members of the search party before Jun-ho fatally wounds him. Jun-ho then directs the remaining search toward the area Park tried to exclude.
No-eul and Gyeong-seok leave on a boat, but the masked officer threatens his daughter. No-eul returns toward the island while sending Gyeong-seok onward to seek help. That night, Gi-hun is summoned to the Front Man, who offers a knife and a way to win with the baby by killing the others in their sleep. Removing his mask, In-ho reveals that he was Young-il and apologizes for Jung-bae's death. Gi-hun must decide whether to use the weapon against people who have already agreed to kill him and the child.
