Hide and Seek begins with Gi-hun ignoring other targets as he hunts Dae-ho through the maze. Myung-gi and Nam-gyu kill together, then continue attacking even after meeting the requirement to survive. The hiders discover that different doors require keys marked with different shapes. Hyun-ju, Geum-ja and Jun-hee possess the three kinds between them, giving their group a chance to open the exit if they can find it.
Jun-hee injures her ankle and goes into labor. Geum-ja and Hyun-ju help deliver her daughter while the killings continue nearby. Hyun-ju fights off an attacker and discovers the exit, but returns to collect the others rather than leaving them behind. Myung-gi stabs her on her return. He then sees Jun-hee and the baby and draws Nam-gyu away from their hiding place, leaving the women to make their own escape.
Dae-ho admits that his military service was a lie and says he froze when trying to return with the magazines. His confrontation with Gi-hun turns violent, and Gi-hun strangles him before recognizing his own responsibility for the revolt. Near the exit, Yong-sik still has not killed anyone and tries to attack Jun-hee. Geum-ja offers herself instead, then stabs her son when he advances on the mother and child. The deadline passes without Yong-sik completing his task, and the guards shoot him as Geum-ja begs them to spare him.
