Season synopsis

Ethan Zobelle and the League of American Nationalists arrive in Charming determined to weaken SAMCRO from inside and out. After League members assault Gemma, she hides what happened from Clay and Jax, confiding only in Tara and Unser. Zobelle also feeds the Mayans information that helps turn them against the club. Clay and Jax argue over how to answer each threat, and their dispute spreads into gun sales, the alliance with the Niners, and the club's relationship with the Real IRA.
SAMCRO's attempts to hold its ground bring more trouble than security. Clay's secret gun deal worsens the Mayan conflict, while Zobelle's League uses a drug scheme and a staged prayer-meeting raid to put much of the club in jail. Luann is killed after her pornography business becomes a target, sharpening Jax's anger at Clay and the choices he makes without a vote. When Gemma finally tells Jax and Clay about the assault, Jax abandons his plan to leave for the Nomad charter, and the club turns toward revenge against the League.
The Sons recover Jimmy O'Phelan's weapons and join with the Triads and Niners to drive Zobelle out, while Opie chooses not to pursue his own revenge against Clay and Tig for Donna's death. After Stahl shoots Edmond as he flees and Gemma kills Polly, Stahl frames Gemma for Edmond's murder. The Sons kill A.J. Weston, but Zobelle is released and escapes with Mayan protection. Cameron, believing Gemma killed his son Edmond, breaks into Jax's home, kills Half-Sack, and takes Abel; Jax returns to find his son gone as Gemma flees with Unser.
