Maeve prepares for Erin's funeral while Sean disappears instead of bringing the flowers. Otis and Eric are sent to find him, and their journey becomes an argument about how little they have understood each other's changing lives. Aimee gathers their former Moordale friends to support Maeve, who fears that nobody will come. Sean eventually interrupts the service with an angry account of Erin's addiction and neglect. Outside, he admits that he expects to follow the same path while Maeve escapes. Isaac helps Maeve return to the service, where her eulogy acknowledges both the damage Erin caused and the love that survived it.
The gathering exposes other tensions. Eric asks for a break from Otis after feeling that his concerns have again gone unheard. Adam speaks warmly with Eric, then discovers that his parents have been seeing each other in secret and retreats to the farm. Jackson finally receives reassuring test results. Jean and O continue working together, while Joanna learns that Dan is Joy's father. Ruby calls the radio show and exposes the childhood bullying video, forcing O to confront a past she has avoided. Aimee reacts to street harassment by taking photographs and begins finding a purpose for her art. Maeve tells Otis that she may stay in England, but another attempt at intimacy triggers his memories of Jean's heartbreak. They stop and lie together instead.
