Maeve and Otis try to turn their agreement into a working clinic, but the first appointment goes badly. Hidden behind a toilet partition, Otis struggles to connect with his client, and Maeve worries that their business will never attract paying customers. Eric suggests offering free advice so students can see what Otis does. Aimee's house party gives them an opportunity, although Otis is far less excited about attending than Eric. Once there, he listens to a couple whose argument has become tangled in embarrassment and expectations. The conversation goes better when he can speak to them directly.
The party brings other problems into the open. Adam arrives drunk and makes a scene, while Eric enjoys himself until a humiliating video spreads among the students. Maeve feels unwell and takes a pregnancy test, keeping her worries separate from the clinic's uncertain future. She initially decides that the party has proved the business was a mistake. The next school day changes her mind: several students approach Otis with private questions and offer to pay him. He brings the news to Maeve, and they agree to restart appointments with face-to-face conversations. She takes responsibility for bookings and money, while Eric finds himself outside the partnership he helped launch.
