After leaving Mark’s house, Cobel sleeps in her car and drives toward Salt’s Neck before turning back. At Lumon, Mark times his entrance and prints missing-person posters for Ms Casey. He and Helly search the severed floor, while Irving takes his own route through another department. Dylan is called to the family visitation suite, where he meets Gretchen, his outie’s wife, and sees a photograph of their three children.
Mark and Helly follow their search into the goat department. Lorne identifies it as Mammalians Nurturable and initially evades questions about Ms Casey, but Mark warns the workers that Lumon may make them disappear too. Lorne then says Ms Casey used to conduct wellness sessions in the husbandry tanks and promises not to obstruct the search. Irving visits O&D, where Felicia recognizes his drawing of the dark hallway as the exports hall.
In the parking lot, Cobel offers Helena her return if she can run the severed floor and ensure Mark completes Cold Harbor. Helena proposes taking the matter to the Board, but Cobel grows uneasy and drives away. Later, Mark and Devon arrange letters spelling ‘WHO IS ALIVE?’ as a signal to his innie. Reghabi stops Mark, explains that his chip dilates his pupils and reintegration is the only way to communicate. She reveals Gemma is alive; Mark agrees, and the basement procedure begins as he flashes between his two lives.
