Season synopsis
Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.
Dan returns to Tree Hill after his restaurant burns down, and Nathan disappears while travelling home from Europe. Haley searches for her husband and, when the police cannot help, turns to Dan. Dan follows leads through the criminal network holding Nathan, eventually torturing a drug dealer for information. Julian and Chris Keller join him on a dangerous rescue mission. They find Nathan alive, and Dan carries his weakened son out, but kidnapper Dimitri shoots Dan as he shields Nathan. Nathan returns to his family; doctors warn that Dan is unlikely to survive because of the wound and his heart condition. Dan dies in hospital after reconnecting with Nathan and receiving forgiveness from Keith in a vision.
Clay’s exhaustion and disorientation lead to treatment, where he meets Logan, a boy who has been living at the clinic. Clay bonds with him before recovering the memory that Logan is his son with his late wife, Sara. Quinn supports Clay as he approaches Sara’s parents and asks to be part of Logan’s life. They eventually agree, and Clay and Quinn bring Logan home and make him part of their family. Brooke and Julian raise their twin sons. Brooke's father returns claiming concern, but she learns he wants to sell Baker Man rather than reconcile. Xavier attacks Brooke in a parking garage, but her café rival Tara saves her with a taser.
At TRIC's tenth anniversary concert, familiar faces gather in Tree Hill. Brooke and Julian buy Brooke’s childhood home. Clay and Quinn quietly marry and legally adopt Logan, completing the family they have been trying to build. Jamie’s future appears in a flash-forward as a teenager playing for the Ravens and breaking Nathan’s scoring record. Chris Keller signs with Haley's label, and the finale returns to basketball.
