Hyde and people from the Land of Untold Stories arrive in Storybrooke after Rumple grants Hyde control of the town. The newcomers bring unresolved conflicts into the lives of Emma, Regina, Henry and the Charmings, while Regina faces the Evil Queen she split from herself. Emma and Hook prepare to marry, even as she fears the hooded figure in her vision will kill her. Meanwhile, Jekyll’s serum does not create a lasting solution: Hook impales Jekyll, and Hyde dies at the same time because the two share a life.
The Black Fairy, Fiona, becomes the final threat. Rumple learns she is his mother and wrestles with her influence, while he and Belle try to protect their son Gideon. Fiona has controlled Gideon since his birth, shaping his return as an adult and his mission to kill Emma. In the finale she casts a curse that splits Emma from her family and strips away her belief in magic. Henry keeps urging Emma to believe and she returns to help him. Rumple kills Fiona, breaking the curse and reuniting the family, but her command still binds Gideon. Emma refuses to kill him; he stabs her, and Henry revives her with true love’s kiss. Gideon is restored to infancy, the family reunites, and a later time jump introduces grown Henry’s daughter Lucy.
