Jorge meets Feistl and Van Ness and offers information about Miguel in exchange for protection for his family. The investigators hesitate to trust a man who knows their hiding place and works inside the cartel's security system. Jorge must continue performing that job while secretly helping the DEA, making each warning he gives either side a risk to his cover.
Peña follows Franklin Jurado to Curaçao and works with local police to arrest him after a chase. Jurado's knowledge of Cali's money offers a possible prosecution if he can be persuaded to testify. Meanwhile, an explosion at a New York laboratory and reporting about Chepe expose the cartel's American operation. Chepe kills the journalist pursuing the story, adding another murder to the attention already threatening his position in the city.
North Valley gunmen attack both a gathering Miguel attends and Pacho's refuge, wounding Pacho's brother Álvaro. Jorge gets Miguel out, but the violence ruins the opportunity to arrange a clean arrest. Christina agrees to seek safety at the American embassy and is kidnapped on the way, giving the cartel leverage over the witness Peña has just captured. Miguel rejects Gilberto's insistence on avoiding war and calls the remaining partners together. Jorge finally tells Paola about his deal with the Americans, and she fears it will get them all killed.
