Price explains that Whiterose controls the Deus Group, an organisation of wealthy men whose money and influence support her secret project. Elliot wants to attack their accounts at Cyprus National Bank and asks Price to bring the members together. Price points him towards Susan Jacobs, unaware that Darlene has killed her. Before Elliot can follow that lead, Darlene calls with news that their mother has died. The siblings clear out Magda's belongings and arrange her funeral, struggling to speak about either their childhood or Angela. Darlene hopes a safe deposit box will explain something about their mother, but its contents have already been destroyed for unpaid fees.
A recording of the children wishing Angela's mother a happy Mother's Day gives Elliot and Darlene something they can share. Darlene admits killing Susan, then agrees to help Elliot take down Whiterose. Price announces his retirement, forcing Whiterose to organise a Deus Group meeting to choose his replacement. Meanwhile, Dom lies to investigators about Santiago, and Janice has the interviewer killed to close the remaining gap. Darlene mentions having already told Elliot that Vera was back. Elliot remembers no such conversation, and Mr. Robot insists he does not remember it either. A scene with Magda and a young Elliot refers to another presence without explaining who it is.
