Elliot hides next door when the Dark Army searches his apartment, then rejoins Mr. Robot to find Darlene. Santiago is exposed while removing her from FBI custody and abducts Dom as well. Irving captures Elliot at Santiago's apartment, bringing them all to the Dark Army's rural hideout. There, he kills Santiago and threatens Dom's family until she agrees to replace him as an informant. Her attempt to uncover the conspiracy has ended with the conspiracy forcing her into its service.
Grant prepares to execute Elliot and Darlene, but Elliot offers a way to accelerate Whiterose's Congo shipment. Leon kills the other armed operatives after Whiterose decides Elliot is still useful, and Grant takes his own life. Elsewhere, Price tells Angela that he is her biological father and challenges the promises that persuaded her to help Whiterose. Angela has to confront her part in the deaths while Price explains how she became a target in his struggle with Zhang.
Using Dom's FBI access, Elliot recovers the information needed to reverse Five/Nine and discovers that Mr. Robot saved the keys. Darlene also corrects his childhood memory: he jumped from the window rather than being pushed by their father. Elliot and Mr. Robot agree to work together, and Elliot sends the recovery material to E Corp. The data can be restored, though the people killed cannot. A final encounter outside Elliot's building brings Vera back into Darlene's life.
