Elliot has traded his computer for a tightly scheduled life at his mother's house. A month after the Five/Nine attack, he eats with Leon, watches basketball, attends a church group and records his days in a journal. Leon's running commentary on Seinfeld gives him company without demanding much conversation. Elliot believes the repetition and lack of internet access will keep Mr. Robot from taking control, but the visits continue.
Gideon interrupts that routine with news of Allsafe's collapse and the FBI's questions. He needs Elliot's help to explain what happened at the company. Elliot refuses, leaving Gideon desperate enough to threaten to tell investigators what he knows. Mr. Robot keeps urging Elliot to return and lead the revolution. Elliot wants answers about Tyrell, yet refuses to surrender the small daily rules he has built around himself.
Darlene is still directing fsociety outside Elliot's retreat. The group manipulates the connected systems in E Corp lawyer Susan Jacobs's house until she leaves, then moves into the empty property. A fresh attack on the bank brings a demand for millions of dollars. Susan persuades E Corp that refusing could cost even more, and Scott Knowles agrees to deliver the money. The handover is arranged, while Elliot remains apart from the group carrying on his attack.
