Flashbacks show Sun and Jin beginning a relationship before her father agrees to their marriage on the condition that Jin work for him. Their home life changes as the work consumes Jin, who returns one night covered in blood and refuses to explain it. Sun secretly learns English and plans to leave him. At the airport, however, a loving gesture from Jin makes her abandon the escape and board the flight with her husband.
On the beach, Jin attacks Michael and is restrained with the marshal's handcuffs. The reason remains unclear until Sun privately addresses Michael in English, surprising him and revealing a secret Jin does not know. She explains that Michael's recovered watch belongs to her father. Michael returns it and cuts Jin free, warning him to stay away from Walt. The dispute ends without Sun publicly revealing her language skills to the rest of the camp.
At the caves, Jack's group discovers two old skeletons and considers moving closer to shelter and fresh water. Locke recognises Charlie from Drive Shaft and tells him he knows about the heroin. Charlie surrenders his drugs, and Locke shows him where his guitar is caught above them. The survivors divide over Jack's proposal: some move inland, while Kate and others remain on the beach to watch for rescue. Charlie plays guitar at the new camp.
