Beauty and the Beast

Contains spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

Moon-young enjoys her shorter hair and tells Gang-tae that her mother's rules no longer control it. Sang-tae is less enthusiastic about the change, but the three share breakfast and later visit the brothers' old restaurant. Gang-tae's memories briefly overwhelm him before Moon-young's struggle with spicy food interrupts the sadness. Their coffee stop brings a different reaction when a male admirer approaches her and Gang-tae becomes jealous. At the hospital, Dae-hwan has reacted to someone singing Oh My Darling, Clementine. Director Oh questions patient Park Ok-ran and asks Gang-tae to watch her after Dae-hwan says the woman he heard is dead.

The household's growing closeness also produces an argument over Mang-tae. Moon-young and Sang-tae pull at the doll until it tears, leaving Gang-tae to hear what each of them fears losing. He later discovers patients A-reum and Jeong-tae together and warns them that their relationship breaks hospital rules. Moon-young's next class debates Beauty and the Beast, with A-reum defending the possibility of loving someone who has been hurt. A-reum's former partner subsequently pursues her through the hospital grounds. Moon-young intervenes and is hit; Gang-tae punches the man before others stop him. Suspended without pay, he leaves the hospital smiling and asks Moon-young to go away on a trip with him.
