Season synopsis

Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf spend the summer in Paris before returning to Columbia, where Serena weighs her feelings for Nate and Dan. Chuck Bass, recovering from a shooting and travelling under another name, begins a life with Eva. He brings Eva back to New York, but Blair drives her away, restarting their rivalry. Dan is left caring for Georgina Sparks’s baby Milo until she admits he is not the father.
Nate dates Juliet Sharp, whose brother Ben is targeting Serena because Lily forged Serena’s signature on an affidavit that helped send him to prison. Juliet recruits Vanessa and Jenny, drugs Serena and stages evidence that makes Lily believe Serena has relapsed; Lily has her committed to the Ostroff center. Jenny confesses, and Blair and Dan help expose Juliet’s scheme. Serena discovers Lily forged the accusation against her former teacher to bring her home, then helps clear his name. Serena’s cousin Charlie arrives, but she is really Ivy Dickens posing as Charlie Rhodes.
Russell Thorpe and his daughter Raina challenge Bass Industries. Raina discovers that her father was responsible for her mother’s death, and Russell takes Blair hostage and threatens to burn the building. Chuck and Nate reach Blair; Raina confronts her father, who is taken into custody. Blair chooses to remain with Prince Louis, and she and Chuck part while acknowledging their love. A positive pregnancy test in the Waldorf bathroom is the closing cliffhanger; its owner and father are not identified.
