The Iron Throne

Contains spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

Jon and Davos witness executions in the ruined capital while Tyrion finds Jaime and Cersei dead beneath the Red Keep. Daenerys declares that her armies will continue liberating the world. Tyrion resigns as Hand in protest and is imprisoned. Jon visits him, and Tyrion argues that Daenerys will keep killing, warning that Jon's sisters will never submit. In the shattered throne room, Daenerys refuses Jon's appeals for mercy. He kisses her and fatally stabs her. Drogon melts the Iron Throne, then carries her body away.

Weeks later, the lords and ladies meet while Jon and Tyrion remain prisoners of the Unsullied. Tyrion proposes that rulers be chosen by the assembled nobles and recommends Bran. They agree, and Bran accepts. Sansa secures the North's independence, leaving Bran to rule six kingdoms. He appoints Tyrion as Hand, requiring him to help repair the damage he caused. Jon is sentenced to return to the Night's Watch as a compromise with Grey Worm, whose men then prepare to sail to Naath.

Brienne records Jaime's deeds in the Kingsguard's history. Tyrion assembles a council including Bronn, Brienne, Davos and Sam to begin governing and rebuilding, while Bran asks about the missing Drogon. The surviving Stark siblings separate: Sansa returns to Winterfell and is crowned Queen in the North, and Arya sets sail to explore west of Westeros. Jon reaches Castle Black, where he reunites with Tormund and Ghost. He then rides beyond the Wall with the free folk, leaving the castle behind.
