Season synopsis
Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.
Roz returns to KACL after just one day at her new job. Niles and Daphne worry about fertility, then discover she is already pregnant. Frasier tries to commit to Julia, but ends their relationship after she disrupts the family’s pregnancy announcement and insults his possessions. Martin starts dating Ronee Lawrence, his sons’ former babysitter, and the couple plan to marry. Later, Frasier hires matchmaker Charlotte and falls for her himself. They become a couple, but she is preparing to leave Seattle for Chicago just as their relationship has begun.
As the season approaches its end, Daphne’s brothers arrive in Seattle and the family prepares for both a birth and Martin and Ronee’s wedding. A booking mistake gives Frasier and Niles only eight days to organize the ceremony. The preparations go wrong in familiar ways: the flower girl has to be replaced, the cannon cue is mishandled, and Eddie swallows a wedding ring. When Niles and Daphne take the dog to a veterinarian, Daphne goes into labor and gives birth to their son, David. Martin and Ronee marry at the clinic so the new parents can be present.
With Martin moving out and Niles occupied with his newborn son, Frasier recognizes how much he will miss his Seattle family. He accepts a better offer to host a radio show in San Francisco, then gathers everyone to explain the move and gives his final broadcast at KACL. Roz has become the station’s new manager, and Martin and Ronee begin married life. The plane lands in Chicago, where Charlotte has moved, revealing that he is pursuing her. He asks the psychiatrist beside him to wish him luck; their future together remains open.
