Mo-yeon races to retrieve her phone after the base hears her private confession, but Shi-jin catches up before she can escape the conversation. Their teasing gradually gives way to an honest choice. She decides to stay in Uruk because she wants to be with him. During a ride back in a truck, they kiss, finally moving beyond the departures and rejections that kept them apart. Dae-young also refuses to let go of Myung-joo when her father questions their relationship. General Yoon permits them to date, then privately demands that Dae-young leave the army. Myung-joo hears the happy news without learning the price.
Meanwhile, Manager Jin attempts to escape Agus after swallowing the diamonds, and Chi-hoon stays behind rather than return to Korea with his guilt unresolved. A boy caught stealing medicine draws Mo-yeon and Shi-jin to a village of sick children. There they meet Fatima, who explains that the children face abuse and trafficking and asks for a way out. Agus arrives before medical help can settle matters. Fatima shoots him, leaving Mo-yeon torn over whether to treat someone who has hurt the children. Shi-jin tells her to save him as a doctor and leaves the use of force to him.
