Mo-yeon pulls away when Shi-jin tries to follow their first kiss with another. Their attraction remains obvious, but she has not resolved her doubts about becoming involved with him. A missing young patient gives them a reason to travel together: the boy has left a map to his village. After finding him, Shi-jin recognizes men using an aid organisation's cover to move weapons and sends Mo-yeon away before confronting them. He encounters Agus, a former comrade who now leads a criminal gang. Daniel helps Mo-yeon understand something of Shi-jin's earlier service, without making the danger easier for her to accept.
Driving back, Mo-yeon swerves to avoid a truck and ends up with her car balanced over a cliff. Shi-jin reaches her, sends the car into the sea and pulls her from the water alive. She thanks him, but their quieter conversation returns to the gunfire she heard and the things he cannot explain. Manager Jin's dealings with Agus reveal a separate trade in smuggled diamonds. Myung-joo keeps trying to reach Dae-young in Korea. When Mo-yeon learns that Shi-jin is also leaving Uruk, she is upset that he did not tell her himself. He asks whether he should apologize for the kiss or confess his feelings.
