Jonas escapes the apocalypse with a Martha from another world, who leaves him beside the caves in 2019, on 4 November. In this Winden, Mikkel has never disappeared into the past, Michael Kahnwald does not exist, and Hannah has no son to recognise. Martha lives in the house Jonas remembers as his own, while Ulrich has left Katharina and married the pregnant Hannah. Erik Obendorf is still missing, however, and the teenagers plan to search near the caves.
At school, Jonas approaches a younger version of the Martha who rescued him, but she has never met him. She is dating Kilian and struggles to understand his claims about their connection. That night, he follows the group into the woods. Strange noises send the teenagers running, and Martha sees a frightening figure covered in dark liquid. Mikkel remains safely at home. Inside the bunker, the others watch a portal open and drop a dead boy whose identification names him as Mads Nielsen.
An elderly Martha tells Jonas that this world exists without him because Mikkel never became his father, yet it faces the same destruction. Elsewhere, three figures of different ages, all bearing a cleft lip, burn Adam's headquarters and kill Bernd Doppler to obtain the power plant's master key. In the original world's 1888, the travelling Martha arrives at the Tannhaus factory. The adult Jonas believes his Martha has returned, until she explains that she comes from another world.
