After the birthday surprise, Se-ri urges Jeong-hyeok to return safely to his family and promises to manage the danger around her. He gives her matching couple rings, and they spend a day together at the cinema and on a bridge. There he explains that he remembers meeting her in Switzerland. Her old recording confirms the encounter, allowing them to recognise another moment when he had drawn her away from despair.
Se-ri gives the soldiers money for clothes and keeps her promise to Ju-meok by arranging a meal with Choi Ji-woo. Their time in Seoul is running short, but they refuse to leave their captain behind. Cheol-gang approaches Man-bok and threatens his son, demanding help with another trap. This time Man-bok tells Jeong-hyeok, and the group prepares a false plan for the officer to overhear.
Se-hyeong supplies information about Se-ri’s route while Cheol-gang’s men wait for Jeong-hyeok at a warehouse. The soldiers emerge from Se-ri’s car to defeat the men sent after her, then join the fight around their captain. Cheol-gang takes Man-bok outside and aims at Jeong-hyeok. Se-ri drives between them and is struck by the bullet. Jeong-hyeok shoots Cheol-gang, but his attention turns to Se-ri as she falls unconscious into his arms and the others rush to help.
