Season synopsis
Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.
A mysterious future Whitelighter, Chris, helps the sisters after Leo disappears, but his guarded manner makes Piper, Phoebe and Paige question his motives. Wyatt’s magic brings a dragon into San Francisco, and the Cleaners erase the child and everyone’s memory to keep magic hidden; the sisters expose the secret to force them to restore Wyatt. Phoebe develops empathy, while Piper and Paige face new threats at Magic School. Chris repeatedly steers the family toward binding Wyatt’s powers, and Phoebe discovers that Chris is actually Piper and Leo’s second son from the future.
Chris says he must be conceived soon or he will vanish, and his efforts to reunite Piper and Leo finally succeed when a trap strands them together on a ghostly plane. Piper learns she is pregnant with him. Meanwhile, Elder Gideon secretly uses his position as Leo’s mentor to isolate Leo and take Wyatt, fearing the boy’s immense power. Gideon’s attacks escalate through a demonic Witch Wars and a journey into a mirrored world where evil rules. As Piper faces a difficult delivery, Gideon fatally stabs the adult Chris and abducts Wyatt. Leo cannot heal the wound caused by Gideon’s magic, and Chris dies. Leo pursues Gideon into the Underworld and kills him, rescuing Wyatt, while Piper gives birth to baby Chris, who survives.
