Jesse wakes to find Jane dead and calls Walt, who brings Saul's cleaner, Mike, to remove evidence from Jesse's apartment. Jesse blames himself and runs to a crack house; Walt finds him there and takes him to rehabilitation. As Walt prepares for cancer surgery, Walter Jr.'s donation site attracts media attention because it appears to have raised a large sum. Walt is uncomfortable with the attention and the idea of charity. During surgery preparation he mentions a second cell phone while under anaesthesia, alerting Skyler to another lie. She confronts him after he comes home, saying she has uncovered his false stories about Gretchen, the medical bills and visits to his mother. Walt offers to explain, but Skyler says she is afraid to know and tells him to move out.
Five weeks later, Donald Margolis returns to work as an air traffic controller while still grieving Jane. A callsign reminds him of her, and he loses track of two aircraft crossing paths. A charter plane crosses into the path of Wayfarer Airlines Flight 515, a Boeing 737, and the aircraft collide above Albuquerque. Walt, sitting beside his pool, hears the explosion and watches the wreckage overhead; a damaged teddy bear falls into the water.
