Be Right Back begins with Martha losing her partner Ash in a road accident and discovering that she is pregnant. A service imitates him through messages and phone calls before offering a synthetic body. Martha accepts it, then finds that its obedient responses cannot reproduce the person she knew. She takes the replica to a cliff but cannot dispose of it; years later, it remains in the attic, visited by her daughter.
In White Bear, a woman wakes without her memories and runs from armed pursuers while strangers film instead of helping. Her apparent escape ends on a stage, where she learns that she is Victoria Skillane, convicted for her part in a child’s abduction and murder. The chase is an attraction at White Bear Justice Park. Staff wipe her memory again, preparing another day in which paying visitors can watch and participate in her punishment.
The Waldo Moment follows Jamie, a comedian performing a crude animated bear whose interviews grow into an election campaign. His encounters with politician Liam Monroe and candidate Gwendolyn Harris make the performance increasingly personal. Jamie tries to tell voters to reject Waldo, but his producer takes over the character and turns the crowd against him. Waldo finishes second, then expands far beyond its original performer. A homeless Jamie later watches the bear on screens in multiple languages, excluded from the political product he helped create.
