A flashback shows Chuck joining Jimmy for karaoke after his admission to the bar. In the present, Jimmy and Kim stage public displays of mourning to influence his reinstatement appeal. Jimmy also sits on the committee for Chuck’s scholarship. He advocates for Christy, whose shoplifting history costs her support. Afterward, he tells her that respectable gatekeepers will never forget her mistake and urges her to find her own route around them.
Mike tracks Werner through a money-transfer office and evades Lalo’s surveillance. Lalo kills the clerk, reviews the security footage and calls hotels until he finds Werner. Pretending to work for Gus, he extracts details about the underground project before Mike arrives and stops the conversation. Gus decides Werner must die. Mike takes responsibility, has Werner send his wife home and promises to protect the crew and disguise the death as an accident. He then shoots Werner.
At the appeal, Jimmy abandons the prepared letter and speaks emotionally about becoming worthy of the McGill name. The panel restores his licence, and Kim believes she has witnessed sincere grief. Outside, Jimmy excitedly reveals that the speech fooled them. He asks to practise under a different business name, turning away from the family identity he has just used to persuade the board. His declaration of “S’all good, man” leaves Kim stunned.
