A flashback follows Jimmy helping Chuck prepare a candlelit dinner for Rebecca, who does not know that Chuck believes he is sensitive to electricity. When she answers her phone, Chuck panics and knocks it from her hand. In the present, Jimmy and Kim face the state bar hearing over his recorded confession and the Mesa Verde fraud. Kim argues the case is really about the brothers’ feud. Chuck testifies that the recording is authentic, while Howard describes why HHM did not hire Jimmy. The committee hears the confession, and Chuck expects the arranged room to keep his condition under control.
Rebecca comes to the hearing after Jimmy contacts her, where Chuck accuses Jimmy of using his former wife as a tactic. During cross-examination, Jimmy asks Chuck to identify the nearest source of electricity. Chuck guesses Jimmy has a device in his pocket, but the phone has no battery, so he says he cannot feel its effects. Jimmy has Chuck reach into his own pocket, where he finds the battery Huell planted. Chuck has carried it for nearly two hours without noticing. When the bar’s lawyer objects that Chuck’s condition is irrelevant, Chuck erupts into an angry speech about Jimmy’s “chicanery.” His tirade leaves the room silent and publicly breaks his composure.
