Wesley rescues Angel from the ocean while Fred and Gunn struggle to keep the agency working without him or Cordelia. Cordelia returns with no memory and stays with Connor. The Beast emerges in Los Angeles, blocks the sun and drives the team into a desperate fight. Cordelia’s visions suggest Angelus may know the Beast, so Wesley helps remove Angel’s soul. Faith comes to Los Angeles to contain Angelus, and Willow restores Angel’s soul. The group then discovers the hidden force behind the Beast.
Cordelia’s body is controlled by Jasmine, who manipulated events while posing as Cordelia. Connor remains close to her, and Jasmine gives birth to herself through Cordelia, who falls into a coma. Jasmine’s power makes people feel unquestioning love and obedience; Fred breaks free after contact with Jasmine’s blood reveals her monstrous face, forcing the team into hiding and a fight to expose her. Angel exposes Jasmine’s true name and breaks her public enchantment; Connor kills her, then takes hostages including Cordelia. Angel accepts Wolfram & Hart’s offer to run its Los Angeles office in exchange for a new life for Connor; the firm changes the group’s memories and gives Connor an adoptive family. Angel watches Connor eating with his new parents and siblings, while his own colleagues no longer remember the son he has given up to save.
