Day 7: 4:00 A.M. - 5:00 A.M.

Contains spoilers for this episode.

Tony's team forces Jibraan Al-Zarian to record a statement claiming responsibility for terrorism while threatening his brother Hamid. They plant material in his home and fabricate a trail of suspicious internet activity and financial transactions. At the FBI, Janis finds that manufactured evidence and identifies Jibraan as a possible suspect. Jack and Renee go to his mosque, where Imam Muhtadi Gohar insists that Jibraan is innocent. Jack initially treats the imam's resistance as an obstacle to finding the next attack.

Olivia asks Martin Collier to arrange Jonas Hodges's murder before he enters witness protection. Collier provides a contact and explains the payment required. When the moment comes to transfer the money, Olivia cannot bring herself to complete it and abandons the transaction. Hodges nevertheless dies in a car bombing as he leaves FBI custody under his new identity. Taylor orders an investigation into the apparent leak. Olivia calls Collier in panic, insisting that she never went through with the payment.

Jack recognizes that the conspirators have chosen an innocent man because threats against his brother will make him easier to control. Gohar accompanies the agents to Jibraan's apartment, where they find Hamid held by an armed operative. The rescue becomes dangerous when Hamid attacks his captor. Jack persuades him to stop, stressing that the wounded man is their only lead to his brother. The agents call for medical help while Tony takes Jibraan onward and prepares the canister for a subway attack.
