Fayed escapes with three nuclear weapons while CTU connects his operation to Dmitri Gredenko. Jack returns to CTU and faces evidence suggesting his interrogation killed Graem. Buchanan offers to soften the report, but Jack refuses to conceal what he believes he has done. Phillip maintains his grieving father's role while deleting messages from Graem's phone and ordering his security chief to kill Gredenko before CTU can reach him.
Marilyn tells Jack she once followed Graem to a house where men spoke with Russian accents. She cannot remember the address but believes she can retrace the route. Buchanan sends Milo along to recover any computer evidence. Marilyn leaves Josh with Phillip, who takes the boy away from CTU. During the drive, Phillip secretly calls Marilyn, admits killing Graem and threatens Josh unless she directs Jack to an address he supplies. She passes the real house without identifying it.
Lennox meets Reed privately and agrees to obtain Palmer's itinerary while Reed withholds details about the plan against the president. Chloe pushes Morris to return to work despite his guilt over helping Fayed. Jack's team enters the house Marilyn identifies and discovers explosives. Jack jumps clear as the building erupts, while Milo drives Marilyn away from approaching gunmen. Their van is disabled by gunfire, forcing Milo to destroy it and flee with her. Jack regains consciousness amid the rubble and cannot reach his team.
