Jack places Wayne in Buchanan's care before meeting Audrey and Secretary Heller at Van Nuys Airfield. He plays the recording and explains Logan's plan to exploit the nerve gas plot for control of Central Asian oil. Heller accepts that Logan is involved but rejects Jack's demand for public prosecution. He orders his detail to restrain Jack and Audrey, keeps the recording under guard and leaves to force Logan into a quiet resignation.
Miles uses Chloe's attempt to warn Audrey to locate the airfield. Logan orders Karen to withdraw her agents, claiming that the military will handle Jack. Novick checks that explanation and discovers the military commander received no such instruction. Chloe steals Miles's access card and escapes custody, reaching Buchanan's house to keep helping Jack. At the retreat, Aaron offers to explain matters to Martha, but disappears before their meeting, leaving his phone near the stables.
Heller confronts Logan with his knowledge of the recording and demands that he resign by morning. Meanwhile, Jack frees himself at the hangar and retrieves the evidence, but Henderson arrives and takes Audrey hostage. Henderson cuts her arm and gives Jack a choice between saving her and keeping the recording. Jack surrenders it and treats Audrey's bleeding. With Henderson reporting that he has the evidence, Logan reverses his position and demands Heller's resignation instead of signing his own.
