Kim and Miguel are questioned after police find Carla's body in Gary's car. Their warnings about the nuclear threat initially sound like an excuse to avoid returning to Los Angeles. Jack eventually speaks to Kim from the plane and orders CTU to take over her case. During the same journey, Nina persuades Faheen to talk, then cuts his throat with the broken gift card she took from his shop, making herself the remaining source of his information.
Kate and Paul Koplin search the Warner company records and find a large payment to Syed Ali. A file in Bob's personal directory starts deleting itself when opened, but Paul interrupts it and identifies government communications data. At CTU, Bob tells Tony that he works as a CIA consultant and supplies a contact code for confirmation. He says his company carries information for the agency while continuing to deny knowing why the records connect him with Ali.
Nina demands transport through San Diego toward Brazil, promising to reveal the bomb's location once her escape is arranged. Mason agrees to divert the plane but holds her to supplying the information first. The men transporting the bomb turn on one another when their driver refuses to continue, leaving a lone survivor to drive away. Ron Wieland appears on television with his account of being detained by Palmer's staff. At the Warner house, Kate and Paul are attacked and knocked unconscious. The plane carrying Jack and Nina is hit, and everyone aboard braces for impact.
