Take On the Overhauled Endgame

On this page

The endgame in this release has been reworked rather than preserved, and the store lists the specific pieces that changed.

Terror Zones and the Colossal Ancients

Four steps of the Diablo II: Resurrected endgame: enter it, take on the Terror Zone updates, face the Colossal Ancients, and work with reworked difficulty scaling.

Expanded endgame challenges include Terror Zone updates and the Colossal Ancients fight, alongside reworked enemy difficulty scaling and new mechanics that reward strategy and class mastery. Naming the scaling is the useful part: the difficulty is meant to respond to what you bring, not simply increase.

The Chronicle tracks the collection

A new Chronicle system shows all the items you have collected account-wide and rewards completionists with exclusive bonuses. That turns the item hunt into a visible, persistent record, which is a different motivation from chasing a single perfect drop for a single character.

Quality of life, and the original feel

The release includes a customizable Loot Filter to reduce screen clutter, updated Stash Tabs with dedicated tabs for gems, materials and runes, and the ability to switch freely between eras to experience Diablo II the way you remember it. The store’s own summary of all this is that it has been refined rather than reimagined.

The classes you build for that endgame are covered in running the eight-player ladder. The newest one is covered in playing the Warlock.
