Run the Eight-Player Ladder

On this page

The store’s pitch for the long game is short and specific: eight classes, eight players, endless replayability.

Eight classes, over 200 skills

Four parts of the Diablo II: Resurrected long game: eight classes, over 200 skills, eight-player co-op, and leaderboards with seasonal ladder resets.
The reset is the feature, not an interruption. Open the full image.

Across the eight classes there are more than 200 skills to master, with new Unique items, sets and runewords to collect for new builds. The number of combinations is the content, which is why a release like this adds items and runewords rather than another campaign to march through.

Eight-player co-op and leaderboards

You vanquish the minions of the Burning Hells in eight-player co-op, and then dominate the leaderboards. Because the leaderboards are named right next to the co-op, the competitive layer and the group layer are presented as the same activity rather than as two separate modes.

Ladder resets are the reset button

A fresh start arrives with seasonal ladder resets that introduce new challenges. That is the structure which has kept this game playable for decades, and the store is explicit that the reset is the feature rather than an interruption: everybody begins again at the same moment.

What you do at the top of that ladder is covered in taking on the overhauled endgame. The class you bring to it is covered in playing the Warlock.
