The Invaders
Hal and the Herons are a group of outsiders, and they have just beaten the strongest and most skilled young warriors in Skandia to win the Brotherband competition.
About
The Invaders is an adventure novel for younger readers by the Australian writer John Flanagan, published in 2012. It is the second book of the Brotherband Chronicles.
Hal and the Herons have done something nobody expected of them. The group of outsiders has beaten the strongest and most skilled young warriors in all of Skandia to win the Brotherband competition.
Their celebration comes to an abrupt end when the Skandians' most sacred artifact, the Andomal, is stolen, and the Herons are blamed for the theft. To redeem themselves, they have to track down the thief, Zavac, and recover what he took.
Doing that means crossing stormy seas, surviving a bitter winter and fighting a company of deadly pirates who are willing to protect their prize whatever it costs them. Even the training the Herons have had, and the help of the greatest warrior in all of Skandia, may not be enough to ensure that Hal and his friends get home in the end with the Andomal, or with their lives.
