The House of Hades
Hazel and the remaining crew of the Argo II face a choice.
About
The House of Hades is a 2013 middle-grade fantasy adventure by Rick Riordan and the fourth book in The Heroes of Olympus, following The Mark of Athena and preceding The Blood of Olympus. It was published on 8 October 2013.
The story follows eight demigods rather than one: Annabeth Chase, Leo Valdez, Piper McLean, Nico di Angelo and Percy Jackson on the Greek side, and Jason Grace, Hazel Levesque and Frank Zhang among the Romans. The novel narrates in the third person and moves between the points of view of the seven demigods named in the prophecy, which is the structure Riordan had been building through the series.
The quest to close the Doors of Death, prevent the giants from raising Gaea and stop the camps going to war gives the book a fixed deadline and a divided cast. Reviews were positive and noted more mature themes than in Riordan's earlier novels. During its first week the novel sold about 350,000 copies and reached the top of the bestseller lists kept by The New York Times, USA Today and The Globe and Mail.
