Five Go Adventuring Again
There is a thief at Kirrin Cottage, and the Famous Five are sure they know who it is and quite unable to prove it.
About
Five Go Adventuring Again is a children's adventure by the English writer Enid Blyton, published by Hodder & Stoughton. It is the second of the books about the group of children known as the Famous Five.
Julian, Dick and Anne are away from school and staying with their cousin George and her dog Timmy at Kirrin Cottage, which is where the trouble starts. Something has been stolen, and the children's attempt to work out who took it lands on the wrong person almost immediately, because the clues they have gathered point at a man they dislike. Proving what actually happened means finding things that can be shown to an adult, and the book follows them as they search the cottage and the country around it, discovering an old map and a hiding place that nobody else has found. The mystery is set in the ordinary world of holidays, lessons and adult disapproval, and the children's advantage over the grown-ups is mostly that they are curious enough to look where nobody else has bothered.
Blyton wrote the Famous Five books over more than twenty years, and they have stayed in print as one of the defining British adventure series for younger readers.
