Dangerous Games
In the underworld of Melbourne there is a nightclub for every taste, and one of them has become an obsession for Riley Jenson, a rare hybrid of vampire and werewolf who works as a guardian.
About
Dangerous Games is a novel by the Australian writer Keri Arthur, published in 2007. It is the fourth of the books about Riley Jenson, and it is set in the supernatural underworld of Melbourne.
Riley is a rare hybrid, half vampire and half werewolf, and her work for the Directorate puts her on the trail of killers who are not entirely human. The case in this book is a murderer who has been using one of the city's clubs as somewhere to hunt, which is why she has to get inside it.
The club is heavily guarded, and the only way in that she can find is through a bartender named Jin, who may hold the key to unmasking the killer. At the same time she is being taunted by a former colleague who has gone rogue, and she is distracted by the attentions of a former lover.
The novel follows her into the club and through the case, in which she turns out to be less the investigator than the thing being hunted, and the series continues in the books that follow it.
