A Wallflower Christmas
Rafe Bowman comes from America for a meeting with Natalie Blandford, the daughter of a well-connected family, and the match is being arranged around him rather than by him.
About
A Wallflower Christmas is a historical romance by the American writer Lisa Kleypas, published in 2008 and part of her Wallflowers series.
Rafe Bowman arrives in England from America to be introduced to Natalie Blandford, a young woman whose family has the connections his father wants, and the meeting has been arranged without much reference to what either of them might prefer. Rafe's manners and his reputation are the obstacles: he has to learn the rules of a society that has already decided what it thinks of him before the courtship can begin. The four women of the earlier Wallflowers novels, who have married into the same world, take an interest in the match and start arranging things themselves, with the results that the book's Christmas setting allows. Kleypas wrote the novel as a shorter holiday installment in the series, and it stands between the other Wallflowers books.
It is shorter than the novels on either side of it in the series, and it was published between the fourth Wallflowers book and the sequence that followed.
