Warframe beginner guide: from Vor's Prize to your first Junctions
On this page
Start with Vor’s Prize, continue into The Teacher, then work through the tasks on your next Junction. That gives your first sessions a clear purpose: learn the ship’s systems, understand your upgrades, and open more of the Star Chart. Treat the steps below as a manageable route rather than a race to finish everything.
Choose a starter and learn to move
The opening choices include Excalibur, Volt and Mag. Pick whichever appeals to you; you can acquire other Warframes later. Learn where the mission objective is before following someone else’s pace. Navigation shows a mission’s enemy faction and average level, while the matchmaking menu lets you choose Public, Friends Only, Invite Only or Solo. Official Quick Start Guide
Practise crouching and then jumping to perform a Bullet Jump. Aim the camera upward when you need height, and try combining the jump with a double jump or aim glide. A few deliberate attempts can make the next mission easier to navigate. Digital Extremes’ beginner tips
Finish Vor’s Prize
Follow the quest’s white and yellow markers, checking the mission map when you lose your direction. Back aboard the Orbiter, use Navigation at the front to launch the next quest mission. Continue through the encounter with Captain Vor to open the wider Star Chart. Completing mission nodes opens connected routes, although destinations can have additional requirements. Remember the three consoles you will keep returning to: the Arsenal equips your gear, the Foundry crafts equipment, and Navigation selects missions. If you forget what to do after returning to the ship, identify which of those jobs your current objective requires. Vor’s Prize Guide
Follow The Teacher before tackling Venus
The Teacher unlocks in the Codex after Vor’s Prize. It introduces Mods, polarity, elemental combinations, Endo and Fusion. Complete it and try the actions yourself so the Upgrade screen feels familiar. Completing The Teacher is one of the tasks for the first Venus Junction. Update 40
Use each Junction’s task list
Open the Junction you are working toward and read its Tasks column. The interface separates Tasks from Rewards: a reward is something you receive, not necessarily something you must own first. Choose one incomplete task, finish it, and check the list again. Use the conditions shown for your current task. Update 42
During the Venus Junction fight, look for the ammo and energy pickup generators while watching the Volt Specter’s attacks. Junction Specters have health without shields, so prepare to damage health instead of relying on shield removal. Update 43
Keep the next session focused
If the available activities feel overwhelming, return to main quests and Junction progress. You can revisit the Plains of Eidolon and Orb Vallis when your equipment and knowledge improve; higher activities there need more preparation. Friends or public squads can help with missions, and the Codex is useful for checking your quest progress. Digital Extremes’ beginner tips
Before launching again, make one decision: finish the current introductory quest, complete one Junction task, or review your Mods if combat is holding you back. If a task will not register, reread its exact conditions before repeating the mission. Keep that next step small enough that you know what success looks like when you return to the Orbiter.
