The Condemned Woman

Contains spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

Earle's recording threatens further deaths unless Cooper prints his next chess move, so Truman calls Pete in to help. The case against Josie also tightens: Albert links Jonathan's killing to the gun used against Cooper, and a witness identifies her. Cooper gives Josie a chance to surrender, hoping to spare Truman the shock of an arrest. Her situation becomes more desperate when Andrew appears alive. Catherine and Andrew press her toward Eckhardt, while Catherine gives her a gun. At the hotel, Audrey meets John Justice Wheeler, and Ben starts an environmental campaign aimed at stopping the Ghostwood project he no longer controls.

Norma asks Hank for a divorce and refuses to supply the false alibi he wants. Ed proposes to her, while Nadine declares her own relationship with Mike. Donna, Audrey and Shelly compare the mysterious invitations they have received and assemble pieces of the same poem. James decides to leave again, with Donna agreeing to wait for him. Josie goes to Eckhardt's hotel room, where Cooper hears a shot and enters to find Eckhardt dying. Josie points her gun at Cooper and admits shooting him. Truman arrives, and she collapses and dies before either man can save her. Cooper sees BOB and the small man from his dream, followed by Josie's face trapped in the wooden drawer pull.
