Colvin asks his special class what makes a good corner boy, drawing out the street rules pupils use to avoid looking weak. Namond works on a package in his bedroom until De’Londa tells him to move the drugs elsewhere. Michael returns home to find his mother sold his groceries, then finds Bug’s father, whose return disturbs Michael, back in the home and looking after Bug. Michael pulls Bug away from the man and leaves school to find him.
Carcetti rides with a narcotics squad and sees officers competing over quick, low-level arrests. Daniels argues that this wastes resources and skilled police work. Herc, desperate to recover the missing camera, stops Chris and Snoop. Their guns remain hidden, but he finds lime and a nail gun and fires a nail into the pavement. Proposition Joe traces Herc to Major Crimes by posing as a caller seeking an officer. Meanwhile, Bunk challenges Andre’s account of the shop robbery and threatens him with a grand jury summons. Holley finally agrees the story was false, and Landsman is furious that the murder clearance against Omar has collapsed.
