A police officer, Leon Wilmore, refuses Tony's attempted bribe and tickets him for speeding. Tony calls Zellman, whose intervention cancels the ticket but leaves Wilmore transferred and deprived of overtime. Seeing the officer working at a garden store, Tony initially asks for the punishment to be reversed. Meanwhile, Meadow takes the basement lamp to her dormitory, unknowingly removing the FBI's listening device from the conversations it was intended to capture.
Junior learns he has stomach cancer. Bobby's father, already seriously ill with lung cancer, receives an assignment to kill his godson, Mustang Sally, after Sally attacks Bryan Spatafore with a golf club. Bobby and Junior ask Tony to spare the older man the job, but he wants to remain useful. He kills Sally and his companion after a struggle. Driving away, he lights a cigarette, begins coughing and crashes the car, dying after completing the hit.
Artie becomes infatuated with Adriana, who leaves her restaurant job at Christopher's insistence. Charmaine refuses his proposal to enter a food business with Tony, and their marriage breaks down. Artie's dinner with Adriana turns uncomfortable when she rejects his advance. Tony's anger about Meadow and race revives his hostility toward Wilmore, and he abandons the attempt to restore the officer's position. He offers Wilmore cash instead, but the officer refuses to take it.
