The Mandalorian reaches Calodan on Corvus, where Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth rules through intimidation and public punishment. She offers him a beskar spear to kill the Jedi threatening her control. He instead seeks Ahsoka Tano with the child and identifies Bo-Katan as the person who sent him. Ahsoka communicates with his companion through the Force, revealing his name, Grogu, and a childhood at the Jedi Temple. Someone rescued him during the Order's fall, after which fear and concealment have shaped his use of power.
Ahsoka tests Grogu's abilities, finding that he responds most readily to the Mandalorian. Their bond is precisely why she refuses to train him: she fears what attachment and anger could make of his strength. The hunter offers to help free Calodan if she will reconsider his future. Together they plan an attack that protects the prisoners while dividing the magistrate's defenses. The Mandalorian faces her lieutenant Lang outside the inner compound as Ahsoka seeks Morgan herself.
Lang attempts a final deception and is killed. Ahsoka defeats Morgan in a duel and demands the location of her master, Grand Admiral Thrawn. With the town freed, she gives the spear to the Mandalorian, but still declines to become Grogu's teacher. Instead she directs them to an ancient temple on Tython. There, a seeing stone may let Grogu reach out through the Force to another Jedi. The journey continues with his identity clearer and the choice of a teacher still unresolved.
