Season synopsis
Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.
Mike Ross turns his memory for legal cases into a job he has no right to hold. After a drug delivery for his friend Trevor goes wrong, Mike escapes into a Pearson Hardman interview and impresses Harvey Specter. Harvey hires him despite the Harvard-only rule. Donna recognizes almost immediately that Mike never attended law school and helps keep his secret from Jessica Pearson, while senior associate Louis Litt watches him closely. Their demanding client work gives Mike room to prove his ability, but every case risks exposing the false credentials behind his new career.
Mike's personal life tightens the risk. Jenny, Trevor's former girlfriend, begins dating him, while Rachel Zane, the paralegal who helps him with casework, becomes an attraction neither can ignore. Mike helps Rachel prepare for the LSAT, which she struggles with because of test anxiety. Their late-night study session leads to a kiss that Louis witnesses. Mike chooses Jenny after a double date makes his feelings for Rachel plain. When Trevor returns to New York, their old friendship collides with Mike's relationship. Trevor has returned sober from Montana, but Jenny fears what he will do if he learns that she and Mike are together.
Near the end, Rachel leaves Mike a drunken voicemail admitting her feelings. Trevor hears it at Mike's apartment, realizes Mike is dating his ex, and tells Jessica that Mike never attended Harvard Law. Jessica now knows the fraud Harvey has been shielding, but the season ends before she acts. Mike's job and the firm's safety are suddenly in the hands of the managing partner who has learned the truth.
