Spoilers for Stranger Things season 5, episode 2.
The Demogorgon pursues Holly through the Wheeler house, where Karen tries to protect her daughter by hiding with her beneath the bathwater. Ted attacks the creature with a golf club, and Karen fights it with a broken wine bottle. Neither can stop it taking Holly. Both parents are left critically injured, while Eleven follows the creature through its closing portal and Nancy stays with her mother.
Inside the Upside Down, Eleven reunites with the wounded Hopper. She treats his injury, and they follow the Demogorgon's blood trail in the hope of reaching Holly. Their search brings them to an enormous organic wall, with Holly's discarded boot nearby. Eleven cannot locate Holly or Vecna with her powers. Back in Hawkins, soldiers investigate the attack and obtain evidence that Eleven has returned to the area.
Will and Robin investigate his visions despite Joyce's objections. A memory of a spinning view and children laughing leads them toward Holly's school and its playground, connecting Will's experiences to the person approaching her. At the hospital, Nancy and Mike disguise themselves to reach Karen, who cannot speak but can write. She describes Holly's friend and gives his name as Henry. The friendly figure offering Holly protection is revealed as Henry Creel.
