Season 3

Season synopsis

Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.

Season three opens with Hammond and a Jaffa force helping rescue O’Neill, Carter and Daniel from Hathor. Back together, SG-1 becomes involved in negotiations to bring Earth into the Asgard’s Protected Planets Treaty. Nirrti tries to sabotage the talks by attacking Teal’c and Cronus, but exposing her deception helps secure the agreement. The team later follows Jacob Carter to Sokar’s prison moon, Netu. Apophis uses hallucinogenic torture to extract information from the prisoners while the Tok’ra prepare to destroy the moon. SG-1, Jacob and Martouf escape before Netu and Sokar’s ship are annihilated. Apophis also survives, inheriting his rival’s forces.

Daniel’s search for Sha’re ends when Teal’c shoots her to stop Amaunet killing him with a hand device. During that brief attack, Sha’re sends Daniel visions in which he mourns her, leaves the SGC and learns about her child. These are messages experienced before her death, rather than a real departure from the team. Her son by Apophis has inherited Goa’uld knowledge, and Daniel sets out to find him. Elsewhere, SG-1 argues for Skaara’s freedom before the Tollan court, securing his separation from Klorel, while O’Neill feigns disloyalty to expose a rogue operation stealing alien technology.

The finale brings O’Neill aboard Thor’s ship, where Replicators threaten to carry their infestation to Earth. Carter and Teal’c join him, while Daniel remains behind recovering from appendicitis. The team brings Earth’s Stargate aboard and escapes to another planet before the vessel crashes into the Pacific. Their immediate escape succeeds, but at least one Replicator survives the destruction, leaving Earth facing a danger the team has not eliminated.
